The publication is prepared for an exhibition in the Department of personal collections of the Pushkin state Museum of fine arts, organized with the participation of the U-art Foundation. For the first time in the history of modern Russia the exhibition presents works of the largest representatives of Georgian modernism − Niko Pirosmani, Lado Gudiashvili, David Kakabadze, Kirill Zdanevich, Alexander Bazhbeuk-Melikov (Melikyan), Elena Akhvlediani, Petre Otskheli, Irakli Gamrekeli − more than 250 works of painting, easel and theatrical-decorative graphics from the largest Russian Museum collections and private collections in Russia and Georgia.
